Aston Villa are waiting for Chelsea to make a decision on manager Roberto di Matteo.

Di Matteo, 41, guided Chelsea to Champions League glory in Munich on Saturday night, just two weeks after lifting the FA Cup at Wembley.

But Blues owner Abramovich remains unconvinced the former West Brom boss is the man to lead the club forward and, according to the Daily Star, Villa are ready to capitalise should talks scheduled for this week not see Di Matteo land the full-time job.
