Aston Villa have made Bordeaux striker Diego Rolan their prime target following the exit of Christian Benteke.
Belgium international Benteke has joined Liverpool on a long-term deal and Villa will reportedly use some of the £32.5million they pocketed from that sale to go after Rolan.
The 22-year-old Uruguayan is believed to be valued at around £15m, according to the Daily Mail, and Villa have made enquiries about his availability as Tim Sherwood seeks an apt replacement for Benteke.
Rolan was recently the subject of an offer from Newcastle United but Bordeaux rejected the overtures from the Magpies.
