Aston Villa are ready to make a final bid for Middlesbrough striker Jordan Rhodes.
The Sun says Villa have already had one offer knocked back for the £12m-rated striker and insist they won't pay over the odds.
They remain hopeful Boro will lower their asking price with Patrick Bamford having arrived.
A loan isn't out of the question for the Scotland international, who is also a target for Sheffield Wednesday.
Villa could also yet raise further funds to launch an improved bid with Jordan Ayew wanted by Swansea.
