Aston Villa are preparing an approach for Juventus defender Angelo Ogbonna.
The Express & Star says Villa are plotting an audacious approach for Italy defender Ogbonna, in the hope they can persuade him to leave Juventus in his homeland.
The 27-year-old became frustrated at his lack of first-team opportunities last season, as he played second fiddle to the likes of Giorgio Chiellini and Leonardo Bonucci.
Villa are now planning to ask the question of whether he would give up Champions League football at the Italian title-winners, in exchange for a regular starting berth.
