Aston Villa skipper Terry ruled out for ten weeks

Aston Villa captain John Terry has revealed that he is devastated after breaking a bone in his foot during his sides 2-1 Championship defeat at the hands of Sheffield Wednesday during the weekend. After picking up a knock, Terry had to be taken off after 20 minutes during the game.

In a statement on Instagram, the veteran Terry wrote: "Devastated is an understatement to how I'm feeling tonight, after my CT scan I have just had news that I have broken my 5th metatarsal."I will be doing everything I can to get back fit as soon as possible."

Meanwhile Villa owner Tony Xia has indicated that the injury could cause Terry to be unavailable for the next ten weeks.

This will be a huge blow to the Villains who are looking to challenge for promotion this season. Since arriving at Villa Park from Chelsea during the summer, Terry has established himself as an important member of the squad and had played every minute of every Championship game up until his knock.
