Aston Villa star signing Charles N'Zogbia fears if not for football he would be in jail.
N'Zogbia signed for Villa last week from Wigan Athletic.
"Football has saved me," he told the Daily Mail. "People ask me what I would have been doing without it. The honest answer is, 'I don't know'.
"My friends have ended up in jail. I might have been the same. When I go back now, I can't find any of them. They have been involved in robberies or drug-dealing. It's crazy, so yes, I think football saved me."
