Tim Sherwood insists young gun Jack Grealish will get plenty more chances with Aston Villa.
The talented winger, 19, came on during the second half of Villa's 2-1 West Midlands derby win over West Bromwich Albion and impressed his new boss so much that there is certain to be more game time in the near future.
"Jack Grealish came on the other night for more than a cameo role," Sherwood told the club's official website.
"He's already a local hero, the fans love him - and he will get more and more opportunities to play.
"He's got potential. He needs to fulfil that. I have told him that.
"I have a track record of developing players and Jack is going to be taken under my wing and I am going to point him in the right direction.
"He just needs to listen and he will be fine.
"I thought he did well on Tuesday. He comes on with no fear. He comes on and plays.
"What I have been impressing on Jack is that we know he has ability but he has to start and affecting the football match."
Sherwood added: "The fans gave him a good reception. He's very talented. He's still got it all to do.
"But we believe he will be a player for this club for the future."
