Leandro Bacuna was compared to Brazilian legend Cafu by his Aston Villa manager Tim Sherwood.
The Dutch winger, 23, was deployed at right-back as Villa hammered Sunderland 4-0 at the Stadium of Light of Saturday to continue their renaissance under Sherwood.
In the wake of Bacuna's performance, Sherwood was admiring of the former FC Groningen man who stepped into the full-back role with aplomb.
"Leandro Bacuna, who's a right sided attacking player was playing at right-back and he looked like Cafu against Sunderland," Sherwood told talkSPORT's 'Call Collymore'.
"I'm delighted with him.
"We are thin on the ground defensively but the boys who have come in have done brilliantly."
