Aston Villa manager Paul Lambert has suggested that Fabian Delph could need surgery on his shoulder.
The 24-year old midfielder sustained the injury after falling awkwardly at training on Tuesday just days after starting for England in their 1-0 Euro2016 win over Estonia on Sunday.
It was initially believed that Delph would be fit to take on Everton at Goodison Park on Saturday but Lambert has indicated he could be sidelined for some time.
"Yes, (it's) probably that. Whether it is enough to allow it to rest for a couple of weeks I don't know or if there is more to it. I am pretty sure the medical people will discuss that," said the Villans boss.
"That's the thing, we don't know (about an operation). That will be left up to the medical people to see what is the best procedure for it.
"It was an awkward fall. No-one was near him. He fell on his shoulder. It is not always straightforward so we need to go and get it checked out."
