Aston Villa are planning to trump Wolves for Serbian midfielder Nenad Milijas.
The Daily Mail says Villa manager Martin O'Neill is expected to travel to watch Milijas when he plays for Serbia tonight against Austria.
Wolves had agreed a deal for £2.6m for the defensive midfielder and expected to sign him next week.
But Villa have registered their interest while Birmingham, Werder Bremen, Schalke and Racing Santander are expected to be watching with interest.
The 26-year-old's agent Zoran Stojadinovic was quoted as saying that a switch from Red Star Belgrade to Molineux was 'very close' but Milijas, who can play across the midfield and is adept at free-kicks, is excited by Villa's interest.
