Aston Villa are prepared to cash in on Christian Benteke this summer.
The Express & Star says Villa have an agreement written in the striker's deal, which has two years to run, stating they must talk to interested parties if they receive a bid in the region of £40million.
Liverpool are leading the chase for the 15-goal top scorer if Villa have to cash in.
Tim Sherwood defends the clause, saying it is unavoidable in today's climate.
"Most players would have it when they sign new contracts," he said. "I don't know what the figure is but I believe it will be quite substantial."
