Aston Villa are planning a double raid on relegated neighbours Birmingham City.
The Sunday Mirror says Villa are discussing whether to break a 28-year transfer hoodoo by making a £15m double bid for Birmingham's Ben Foster and Scott Dann.
No major player has made the two mile move directly from St Andrew's to Villa Park since Alan Curbishley signed for Tony Barton's European Cup winners in 1983.
But England goalkeeper Foster and highly rated centre half Dann have been identified as the two major players in the Blues' relegated squad who could strengthen their neighbours.
And the club believe Villa's fans would be ready to accept the two of them after Liam Ridgewell and Craig Gardner made successful moves in the opposite direction.
