Aston Villa aren't giving up on Stoke City goalkeeper Asmir Begovic.

The Daily Star says Villa boss Tim Sherwood has had an opening offer for the keeper - who the Potters rate at £10m - dismissed.

It is understood the bid was around HALF of what Stoke value the Bosnia international at.

Villa are still deciding whether to go in with an improved offer after identifying Begovic as their top goalkeeping target for this summer.

Begovic has just 12 months left on his own Britannia Stadium deal and has offered no signs he is willing to sign another one.
