Montpellier defender Emir Spahic is in the sights of Aston Villa.
The Daily Mail says Villa boss Gerard Houllier is lining up Montpellier's Bosnian centre half for a move this month.
The 30- year-old was a summer target for Arsenal but could join Villa next week in a £5m deal.
Houllier was in France this week on transfer business.
