Aston Villa outcast Philippe Senderos is open to returning home to Switzerland.

Senderos hopes he can return to Switzerland in the January transfer window, as he looks for regular football again.

The 30-year-old, who has not played in 14 months, said: "Maybe the Swiss Super League is the ideal solution for me. I'll try anything as I want to play matches again.

"I know I still have several good years ahead of me. I've not been able to do what I enjoy the most, I miss the pleasure of battles on the pitch, and it is frustrating."
