Aston Villa have jumped into the battle for Bologna midfielder Amadou Diawara.
The youngster has been on the shopping list of Napoli and the subject of negotiations with Roma.
However, Sky Italia says Championship outfit Aston Villa have tabled a bumper offer for Diawara.
Villa are bidding €17 million for the midfielder and hope for a quick answer.
Bologna management are eager to sell Diawara this month in order to balance the books.
