Lorient are in talks with Aston Villa over the sale of Jordan Ayew.

The Daily Mail says Villa have opened talks over an £8million move for Ayew.

The 23-year-old Ghana international is expected in Birmingham on Friday after talks developed quickly on Thursday.

Ayew is quick and powerful and can play across the frontline. He scored 12 goals last season in a struggling Lorient side and provided five assists in Ligue 1.

His older brother, Andre Ayew, has signed for Swansea City this summer.
