Aston Villa have failed with a bid for Roma winger Gervinho.

Corriere dello Sport says Villa are keen on the former Arsenal forward, but their offer this week fell short of Roma's valuation.

Villa, after talks with Roma chief Walter Sabatini, tabled a bid of €13 million for the Ivorian.

But the offer was quickly rejected by Roma, which are seeking closer to €20 million to sell.

Everton are also interested in Gervinho.
