Aston Villa boss Martin O'Neill is weighing up a move for Portsmouth veteran Sol Campbell.

The Sun says O'Neill needs an experienced centre-back after seeing Martin Laursen, 31, retire through injury.

Campbell, 34, has been offered a new deal to stay at Portsmouth on reduced wages of around £40,000 a week.

But the prospect of playing Europa League football with Villa next season is the big pull.
