Aston Villa have joined the race for Bayern Munich veteran Mark van Bommel.
The Mirror says the 33-year-old Dutchman is out of contract at the end of the season and, despite his age, has attracted interest from several big clubs.
Tottenham and Manchester City made their interest known before the opening of the January transfer window and AC Milan have held talks with the player's camp.
Villa would seek to snap up Van Bommel for a nominal fee this month.
