Aston Villa midfielder Barry Bannan is determined to improve his goal scoring record.
The 21-year-old midfielder knows finding the net more often will keep him in Alex McLeish's team.
"When I was younger I was always scoring," Bannan told the Birmingham Mail. "But when I started last season, when I was playing in the middle, I was tending to play a bit deeper than I should have done.
"That's not really my game, but that's where I was getting more of the ball. Obviously I wanted to get the ball so I was dropping deep, but I couldn't affect it where I'm normally good at affecting it.
"I was playing with some of the younger boys, so maybe if I was playing with some of the more experienced players I could tend to do the running playing further forward.
"That's what I'm going to look to build on and next season I'm going to try and add a few goals to my game."
