Aston Villa have tabled an improved offer for Blackpool midfielder Charlie Adam.
The Daily Mail says Villa have raised their bid for Seasiders captain Adam to £3.5million.
Villa boss Gerard Houllier is pulling out all the stops in an effort to land the Blackpool midfielder and see off rival bidder Alex McLeish. Villa were waiting to hear whether their latest offer had been rejected.
Birmingham City manager McLeish is also interested but may be unwilling to match a valuation in excess of £3m. Blackburn, Sunderland and Everton are also monitoring events.
