Aston Villa are being linked with Real Zaragoza winger Jermaine Pennant.
The Sun says looks to be on his way back to the Premier League after being bombed out by Real Zaragoza.
The winger signed for the Spaniards in July when his Liverpool contract expired.
But he is no longer wanted - along with Argentine star Roberto Ayala, the Brazilian Ewerthon and keeper Lopez Vallejo.
Zaragoza director Erard Poschner said: "We are disappointed with Pennant. This is based on the commitment of the players.
"With spirit like this it is better to 'sack' some players and seek reinforcements in the winter market. We want players who guarantee their work and effort."
Aston Villa have asked about him and a Zaragoza insider said: "Our objective is to sell Pennant back to the Premier League."
