Aston Villa have reportedly entered the race for Liverpool target Ludwig Augustinsson.

Villa manager Tim Sherwood is looking to rebuild his squad this summer and bringing in a new left-back ranks high on the agenda for the 46-year old.

Now according to the reports from the Birmingham Mail, Sherwood has identified Swedish youngster Augustinsson as the ideal target.

Augustinsson played a starring role in Sweden's recent Under-21 European Championship triumph and Sherwood is now hopeful of luring the Copenhagen defender to Villa Park.

Villa will face competition in the race for Augustinsson though as even Liverpool are believed to be in hot pursuit.
