Aston Villa are stepping up their pursuit of Wigan Athletic fullback Maynor Figueroa.
The Daily Mail says while Villa boss Gerard Houllier also likes Wigan striker Hugo Rodallega, his main target at the DW Stadium is attacking Honduran left back Figueroa.
Wigan boss Roberto Martinez has tried to play down Villa's interest in two of his leading lights but faces an uphill task preventing Figueroa heading for the Midlands later this month.
Figueroa has also attracted enquiries from Manchester United and Tottenham in the last six months.
