Aston Villa have delivered beleaguered Birmingham City some good news.
The Mirror says embattled Birmingham owner Carson Yeung has had a boost now Aston Villa have opened compensation talks over Alex McLeish.
Boss McLeish, 52, quit relegated Blues last month and was unveiled as Villa's new manager five days later.
Livid Birmingham want the Scot's £5.4million compensation clause paid up. But Big Eck is counter-claiming for constructive dismissal.
Birmingham's woes have also increased after their Hong Kong-based owner Yeung, 51, was arrested on money-laundering charges in the Far East. He is out on bail.
