Aston Villa fans are planning a day in tribute to club captain Stiliyan Petrov.

The club face Wigan at the DW Stadium and have christened the season finale 'Stiliyan Petrov day' in honour of the midfielder who is continuing his battle with cancer.

Fans plan to wear Villa, Celtic and Bulgaria kits and they will hold banners displaying the words 'Petrov 19'.

Throughout this season Villa supporters have applauded throughout the 19th minute - in reference to his squad number.'
