Aston Villa face a battle to land Le Havre midfielder Gueida Fofana.
The Daily Mail says Villa will face a summer battle with Bordeaux to sign the teenager Fofana.
Villa were close to a deal in the transfer window only for the proposed £1million move for the 19-year-old to collapse.
Fofana travelled to Birmingham in December, but the player's wage demands scuppered the deal.
