Aston Villa are eyeing off contract Sunderland striker Steven Fletcher.

The Express & Star says Fletcher cost the Black Cats £12million from Sunderland in 2012 and signed a four-year deal, but has been let go in the club's close-season clear out.

The 29-year-old finished last season on loan at French club Marseille, but only scored for them once in nine games, but is more likely to stay in England.

Villa would be an ideal move for him but Hull City - who have just been promoted to the Premier League - and Glasgow Celtic are both thought to be interested, too.
