Aston Villa control their own Champions League fate

Aston Villa's Luke Young believes the club hold their own Champions League fate in their hands.

Villa currently sit fourth on the league table (three points clear of Arsenal) and are in a good position to land a Champions League spot for next season but face Manchester United and Liverpool in the next few weeks.

Young stressed the point that it is really only them who can determined whether or not they play in Europe next season.

"We are aware of the situation and the games that are to come. If we don't finish fourth it will be down to ourselves," he said.

"We don't need to worry about others because it is down to us. When you look at it, destiny is in our own hands with a quarter of the season to go.

"We would have taken this. We just have to keep focused on what we need to do now. There are 10 games to go. That is like a mini-season for us and we will be up for the challenge."
