Aston Villa compete with Swansea for French icon Trezeguet

Aston Villa are interested in Hercules striker David Trezeguet.

The Daily Mail says Villa have expressed interest in Trezeguet.

The former Juventus striker, 33, is a free agent after leaving Hercules and has been linked with Swansea City.

The Frenchman's agent, Antonio Caliendo, claims Villa made an approach two weeks ago and talks are ongoing, but Napoli, Nice and Terek Grozny are also keen.

Trezeguet is chasing a two year contract and is understood to want £28,000 a week after tax.
