Hollywood star Tom Hanks has the answer to Aston Villa's manager problems: Get Cloughie!
The Oscar-winning movie star spoke of his continued dedication to the club before the UK premiere of his new film Larry Crowne, reports the Birmingham Mail.
But in a message of good luck to his favourite footie side he surprisingly declared: "Come on the scarlet and blues, come on boys."
And he revealed: "I fell in love with Aston Villa because I thought the name sounded like an island off Sardinia.
"A lovely place to go. 'I am going to go on holiday to Aston Villa. We'll take the kids, play on the beach, get a lovely cabana overlooking the football field'.
"I, I try to pay attention to how they do and they do OK."
His best advice to the owner of the club, fellow American Randy Lerner, who is looking for a new manager following Gerard Houllier's departure, was equally surprising.
"Is Brian Clough still alive? Can he take over?" he said. On hearing that he former Nottingham Forest manager passed away - seven years ago - he said: "Then I am sorry I don't know."
