Aston Villa caretaker boss Kevin MacDonald is convinced by the talent of Jordan Veretout.
Managerless Villa go to Tottenham on Monday night rock bottom of the Premier League, having won only once in 10 games and lost the last six.
On Veretout, MacDonald said: “From what I've seen he's been very good.
“He's a wonderful passer of the ball but he keeps picking up little niggles.
“They're not bad enough that he can't play or train but I think that might be affecting him. He started wonderfully and had a little dip but watching him I think he is coming back again.
“I want to see him creating more chances with his passing. He needs to get on the ball more than anybody else."
