Aston Villa boss Sherwood reacts to Keane claims - 'I'll position myself at Barcelona or Real Madrid'

Tim Sherwood has responded with wit to claims from Roy Keane that he was hanging around Aston Villa before he was appointed manager.

Former Villa assistant Keane has suggested that Sherwood was trawling for the job at Villa Park when Paul Lambert was still in charge, indicating that the presence of the former Tottenham man heaped more pressure on the Scotsman.

In response to those assertions, Sherwood said that maybe next time he is out work he could head to Barcelona and Real Madrid matches to see if he could land those types of enviable jobs.

"I went to a lot of football matches, probably 20-30 while I was out of work. That's what I do," said Sherwood.

"If that's a formula to get yourself a job, next time I'm out of work I'll position myself at the Nou Camp or the Bernabeu."
