Aston Villa boss Remi Garde can't hide his disappointment over a dismal winter market.

Garde failed to land a single transfer target last month and is clearly frustrated not to have strengthened his squad.

“We have spent a lot of energy in the last four weeks on the transfer window, which is normal because that was the time," he said.

“Now it is time for me to be only focused on how we can win games.

“That is what I asked of my players. When it was the transfer window it was the time to think 'am I OK to stick with this project, with this manager and with this football club or not?'

“There is time for that. There are two windows in the season in the winter and the summer.

“Now we have closed this window and for me, I ask my players only to be focused on what we can do and for me it is the same.

“There will be the time for everybody to see how it's going over the summer."
