Aston Villa are eyeing Tottenham midfielder Jermaine Jenas.
The Daily Mail says Villa manager Martin O'Neill has been linked heavily with Tottenham's Tom Huddlestone but wants more mobility to his midfield and £10m-rated Jenas has been earmarked.
Jenas, 26, endured an inauspicious start under manager Harry Redknapp, which resulted in him losing the vice-captaincy after their league defeat at Wigan in January.
He sought clear-the-air talks with Redknapp, who assured him of his future, but Jenas remained unconvinced and believes the manager would let him go for the right price as he looks to put his own stamp on the club.
Inter Milan showed interest in Jenas in January and Everton have been long-time admirers but both have other priorities.
Villa, however, would be a very attractive option, especially if they can keep their young stars together, and Jenas would relish the chance to join up with O'Neill.
