Aston Villa boss Alex McLeish is excited by the current form of Richard Dunne.
McLeish admits he was in awe of Dunne as the Irish stopper sparkled for his country in the Euro 2012 qualifier against Russia in midweek.
He told Villa's website: "He had some game, what a fantastic performance that was.
"He's a player who has always been renowned for his commitment and doesn't get enough credit for the other parts of his game.
"Richard is a really terrific player and he has started this season in wonderful form.
"His performance in midweek was colossal.
"We're looking for him to turn in 30-40 games like that this season.
"Paul McGrath said Dunnie's display against Russia was the best by any Irish defender ever - and he included himself in that.
"That's saying something because Paul was a colossal performer for the Irish.
"Richard's performance the other night was definitely up there with the McGrath standard."
