New Aston Villa boss Gerard Houllier insists he will make the most of the club's academy.

There's concern that Houllier will ignore the talent coming through Villa's system.

But Houllier insisted the crop of young English talent at Villa will be given the chance to flourish under his leadership.

He said: "If they are good enough, they will play, but they will also improve if they are focused."
