Aston Villa boss Steve Bruce is pushing John Terry to stay next season.

The Daily Star says there is an option to extend his one-year deal and Bruce greatly values having Terry's influence on the pitch and in training.

Bruce thinks his return to action after a broken metatarsal had a lot to do with Villa's recent good run.

However, he faces a fight to keep hold of Terry, with the veteran eyeing a return to Chelsea.

A coaching position has been mooted for the former Blues captain next season.
