Aston Villa are ready to pounce for Spartak Moscow winger Aiden McGeady.
The Sunday Mirror says the former Celtic winger is being lined up for a shock move to Aston Villa as Gerard Houllier's first January signing.
The 24-year-old Republic of Ireland star only signed for Spartak Moscow from Celtic last August for a whopping £12million.
His transfer made him Scotland's most expensive export.
However, he has failed to settle in the Russian capital and Villa boss Houllier is hoping to nab him at a knockdown price.
