Aston Villa have approached Everton for Darron Gibson.
The Republic of Ireland midfielder is desperate to get out of Everton, as he searches for more regular football ahead of the European Championships.
Sunderland and Aston Villa have been in contact about a loan deal.
However, Everton boss Roberto Martinez is reluctant to part with Gibson today.
