Aston Villa are making a move for Chelsea midfielder Josh McEachran.

The Daily Mail says McEachran is a January loan target for Aston Villa after being told he can leave Chelsea to gain first-team experience.

Alex McLeish has had a strong interest in McEachran, 18, who has played just one Premier League game this term, since the teenage midfielder impressed against his team in pre-season.

Villa, who have lost on-loan Jermaine Jenas for the rest of the season after an achilles injury, have approached Chelsea but face competition from Swansea and Fulham, who are keen on the midfielder.
