Fulham fullback Nathan Ashton was delighted with his winning debut against Reading.

He told fulhamfc.com: "They were tough circumstances to come into, it was well documented how much we needed to get three points from the game. Perhaps it wasn't too pretty at times but we got an excellent result and one that we thoroughly deserved. In terms of my game I thought I did ok, playing alongside Dejan and Aaron obviously helped because they are so vastly experienced. Dejan was constantly talking to me which was helpful.

"We have a tight squad and the players get on very well together. Myself and Junior our both confident in our own abilities, we're here to play for the First Team. We play our games in the Reserves and hope that when the time comes we can come in and prove ourselves to the Manager which I think we did in the games we have played."
