Manchester City have secured young defender Ashley Smith-Brown to pro terms.
The England teen had been interesting Barcelona.
City academy chief Mark Allen said: "His versatility is frightening - we have played him at right back, left back, centre back, as a number eight and as a number ten in our system last season.
"He played all of those positions in the under-18s last season and did very well in all of them.
"Over time, the next couple of years will determine what is his best position, but that versatility is always useful when a manager is looking at squads and seeing who could do a job for him."
