Ashley and Staveley playing 'cat and mouse' over Newcastle ownership

Newcastle United takeover talks between Mike Ashley and Amanda Staveley has not progressed, according to reports from the Chronicle.

There has been a lot of reports claiming that Staveley's PCP Capital Partners group is in talks with Ashley over the purchase of Newcastle United.

But the long-drawn negotiations have not made much progress due to differing valuations of the club between the two parties.

Now with Ashley set to return from holiday, it was expected that the talks would finally move forward but according to reports, the stand-off could still persist as the game of 'cat and mouse' between the two parties is set to continue.
