Asenjo reveals his role in Cazorla Villarreal return

Villarreal goalkeeper Sergio Asenjo has revealed his role in bringing Santi Cazorla back to the club.

Fully fit after 18 months of serious injury, Cazorla announced this week he would be leaving Arsenal as his deal runs down next month.

Villarreal chief Marcos Senna has confirmed the midfielder is returning to his old club for preseason and Asenjo has revealed his influence in the move.

The keeper stated: "Last summer we were both on holiday in Mallorca, I was on my honeymoon and he was spending a few days, we were both injured.

"Those at the hotel would think that we could not be football players in any way! But I am very happy that he comes, I have seen that he is recovering very well and now he has to work very hard, I hope he can recover and be with us."
