Fenerbahce are again being linked with Arsenal star Mesut Ozil.

Ozil, with just over 18 months to run on his current deal, is still thrashing out terms over a new contract with the Gunners.

Hurriyet says Fener have made contact with Ozil's minders to register their interest about bringing him to Istanbul.

Ozil has made no secret of his desire to play for Fenerbahce, saying last July: “In the future I want to wear a Fenerbahce shirt. It would be an honour. Everyone knows I am a Fenerbahce fan."

It's claimed Ozil took a 17-hour trip to Istanbul on his most recent visit to the country.

Ozil had discussions with Fener during the holiday with a view to potentially joining up with the club in the long-term.
