Mikel Arteta is excited by the potential of Everton's attacking partnership of Louis Saha and Yakubu Aiyegbeni.

"Yak is going to be a very important player for us from here until the end of the season," the Spaniard told evertonTV.

"We want him fit, we want him scoring goals - because we know with Yak fit this team is much better."

Arteta has also seen some encouraging signs of a burgeoning partnership between Yakubu and Saha.

"I think they are starting to understand each other," he added.

"There were maybe two or three flick-ons between them where they can score another goal or two, and I think they're putting in a better effort as well for the team so I am pleased with them."
