Mikel Arteta says Everton are determined to enjoy a long FA Cup run this season.

He explained to evertonTV: "I don't like to talk about the top four, I want to talk about the FA Cup on Saturday, we want a run.

"We need a run and it will be a hard game on Saturday. It is a hard ground to play at and then after we have Hull at home and we need three points from that too.

"The FA Cup means a lot because it gives you the chance to get to a final and win it, and get into Europe as well so we have to try really hard. We haven't got the biggest squad but we were knocked out of the Uefa Cup which was a big disappointment so hopefully now we can have a good run in this and it will be a boost for the Club."

Arteta has been given a new lease of life by his move into the centre of midfield.

He added: "I like to play there, everybody knows that so I try to enjoy it and work hard as well. There is more defensive responsibility so I try to do the best I can."
