Everton midfielder Mikel Arteta knows Manchester United striker Wayne Rooney returns to Goodison Park today in the best form of his career.

Arteta says Everton must attempt to keep the England star quiet.

"Wayne has stepped up his game and he's done it really well," the Spaniard told evertonTV. "He's been in terrific form, not just in his scoring but his overall play has been unbelievable. He has been the most influential player for them and probably in the Premier , so we need to be really careful with him. He's really clever and the thing is he's not static - he can play in so many positions."
